Sun damage can show up in many forms, whether it is visible hyperpigmentation, freckles, or prolonged redness. For the most part sun damage can be harmless although we always encourage routine skin checks from your dermatologist.
Sun damage lives in different depths of the skin, as we age the sun damage that occurred from years prior begins to surface. For the most part, it is harmless although if left un treated it can leave you feeling uneven and forced to cover it with makeup.

What is Melasma?
Also known as “the pregnancy mask”, Melasma is typically induced for hormonal changes causing brownish patches on the surface of the skin. Theis most common places for this condition to show up is on the top sides of the forehead, upper lip and cheeks. If you have been diagnosed with melasma, there are many treatments we can do to reduce the appearance and keep it at bay!
What is poikiloderma?
Poikiloderma are reddish brown patches that usually contain a chicken skin appearance in texture. The location is usually on the neck and décolletage. This condition is caused by sun damage and can be frustrating when left un treated. Using light and laser therapies can dramatically decrease the appearance of this condition.
What is hyperpigmentation?
This is simply just a broad term used to define sun damage, This can just be freckling, wisdom spots (most commonly known as liver spots) or even the condition melasma.
